Mark Hill

Mark is known for his dapper appearance and irrepressible style – along with an eclectic and inquisitive taste for midcentury modern design and a smorgasbord of quirky antiques.

A lifelong collector, it’s the story behind the object that grabs his mind and heart. After working for Bonhams and Sotheby’s, he joined the BBC Antiques Roadshow team, and has written and published 12 books on 20th century decorative arts. He also appears on the BBC’s Antiques Roadtrip and is an Accredited Lecturer for The Arts Society.

From 20th century art glass to abstract sculptural pieces to avant garde art, you can be sure that Mark’s interests are a long way removed from the somewhat outmoded perception of antiques as items that should be dolefully regarded in dusty, silent rooms. His stock is bold, colourful, varied - and progressive. As such, his inspiration and verve will fit in perfectly with what’s being created and curated in our increasingly vibrant corner of Tunbridge Wells.
